Depending on your Wedding timeline, Cocktail Hour is the time of your wedding that either gets coverage, or doesn't. If you didn't have a first look, this is the time of your wedding that you'll be taking your formal photos. Not every Cocktail Hour space gives the time or room for good photos - but my approach at Fireside Sparrow to Cocktail hour is just about the vibe. Getting shots of the scene, with some portraits littered in, is the way to capture the moon, details, and emotion of the day. You just got married and you're in a room of people mingling before the party actually starts. So here is my ode to Cocktail Hour across a few weddings, and they're some of my favorites.

The vows have been exchanged, it's time for the glasses to be raised.

Cocktail hour is the perfect time for that true 'documentary style' photography that you see all of the time. Wedding Photography, for the most part, is a mix of so many styles. Portrait photography, nightclub photography, photojournalism, lifestyle, there are a plethora of buzzwords that go into Wedding Photography and most of the time you get a mixture of them all. At Fireside Sparrow the photography is always lead with intention, and the 'style' has everything to do with the subject.

Golden Hour is always a good idea.
